Donald Kouns - Director of Manufacturing & Packaging & Advisory Board Member
As Sentry BioPharma's director of manufacturing and packaging, Mr. Donald Kouns provides strategic guidance in the areas of cold storage operations, cold chain equipment validation and service offering implementation. He is recognized throughout the industry as a leading expert in the fields of pharmaceutical product finishing, kitting and packaging. Mr. Kouns brings 45 years of leadership experience in biotechnological manufacturing, engineering and management to Sentry, including 35 years at Eli Lilly and Company.
Formerly, Mr. Kouns served as president of Domak Consultant LLT where he advised pharmaceutical manufacturing firms on packaging best practices, processes and methodologies. He also held a variety of senior level management positions at Baxter Pharmaceutical Solutions. As manager of finishing and director of operations, he oversaw manufacturing processes and implemented pharmaceutical and biotechnology finishing procedures, which helped increase business revenue by more than 300 percent. Prior to Baxter, Mr. Kouns held a variety of leadership and technical positions at Eli Lilly and Company including pharmaceutical packaging engineer and plant manager. In these roles, he was responsible for parenteral products, warehouse and shipping, clinical trial services and dry products manufacturing and packaging.
Mr. Kouns received a B.S. degree in business and economics from Indiana Central University. He also pursued post-graduate studies at both Wisconsin University and Michigan State University.
